Give every product a digital profile
Present product information in a structured public page, then personalize selected values for each Tag without rebuilding the profile.
A Product Profile is a public digital product page that can be used as a TagLink Destination. It can include text fields, image carousels, videos, and links. Multiple Tags can share the same profile structure while displaying different Dynamic Data values where needed.
Organize content and configure fields
Use groups to keep related product information together. You can rename and reorder groups, but groups cannot be nested inside other groups.
The settings sidebar provides controls for:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Template | Selects the structure and presentation of the Product Profile. |
| Group Management | Renames and reorders groups. |
| Field Configuration | Sets the behavior of individual fields. |
| Live Preview | Shows how the public page looks while you build it. |
Each field has two independent options: Enabled controls whether it is displayed publicly, and Required controls whether it must have a value. A field can be enabled without being required.
Use the live preview to check the information hierarchy, visible fields, and overall presentation before the profile is used publicly.
Customize the style of each Product Profile
Product Profiles do not all need to look alike. You can create a Style Preset and use it to give an individual Product Profile its own visual identity. This is useful when you manage different brands, product lines, or campaigns within the same TagLink account.
In Create Style, give the preset a name and adjust its appearance. The available controls include:
| Style option | What you can customize |
|---|---|
| Custom logo | Replace the account logo on Product Profiles and redirect waiting pages that use this style. Save the style first, then upload its logo. |
| Shape and borders | Adjust border radius and border width. |
| Typography | Choose a font style and text size. |
| Hero section | Set background and text colors. |
| Fields section | Set colors for field titles, text, icons, and links. |
The live preview shows a sample Product Profile as you make changes, so you can check readability and color combinations before creating the preset. Select the appropriate style for each Product Profile to present different products in a way that fits their brand, while keeping their content and Dynamic Data separate from their appearance.
What is Dynamic Data?
Dynamic Data lets a Product Profile show a value associated with the specific Tag that was scanned. For example, one shared profile can show a different owner, serial number, or purchase date for each tagged item.
| Element | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Definition | Describes the Dynamic Data field, such as Owner. |
| Instance | Connects one Tag UID to the value shown for that Tag. |
When a Tag is scanned, TagLink identifies its UID and displays the corresponding instance value. The shared profile structure remains the same.
Create the common product page once. Use Dynamic Data instances when individual Tags need different field values.
Create a Dynamic Data Definition
- Go to Product Profiles and open the relevant Batch.
- Select Manage Dynamic Data.
- Select Create New Dynamic Data to create a Definition.
- Add instances by associating Tag UIDs with their values.
You can add an instance while editing a single Tag in My Tags, or manage instances from the Dynamic Data Definition page. Tag-specific Dynamic Data is not configured through bulk Tag editing.
Import values with a CSV file
For multiple instances, import a CSV with the exact column names tagUID and value:
tagUID,value
ABCD1234567890,James Smith
ZYXW0987654321,Emma Johnson
Each row after the header associates one Tag UID with one value. You can import up to 5,000 values in one CSV operation; divide larger datasets into multiple imports.
For date or date-time values, the documentation recommends a consistent format such as:
YYYY-MM-DDYYYY-MM-DD HH:mmYYYY-MM-DD hh:mm AM/PM
Keep the chosen format consistent across your data.
When should you use a Product Profile?
Use it when you need a dedicated product page with structured information and media. Dynamic Data is particularly useful when many physical Tags share that page but some values differ between individual items.
