Find the right Tag at a glance
Use reusable, color-coded labels to organize Tags and GS1 Digital Links around your products, campaigns, customers, or workflows.
Labels are categories you create and apply to Tags or GS1 Digital Links. They help you identify, navigate, search, and filter items when your collection grows.
Each label has a name and a color. You can manage labels centrally and reuse the same label across multiple items. A single Tag or Digital Link can have multiple labels: for example, both Campaign 2026 and Premium Product.
Adding or removing a label changes how you classify an item. It does not modify the Tag configuration or its associated GS1 Digital Link.
What can you organize with labels?
| Category | Example labels | Why use them |
|---|---|---|
| Products | Product line, model, category | Group related products and Tags. |
| Campaigns | Campaign 2026, spring launch | Locate promotional items together. |
| Customers and projects | Customer name, project name | Separate work for different clients. |
| Production | Batch, period, facility | Identify production groups. |
| Internal status | Active, Pending, Archived, Needs attention | Make an internal workflow visible. |
| Markets | Country or region | Group items by geographical market. |
You can combine these criteria on one item without creating duplicate entries. For example, a Tag may carry a campaign label, a production batch label, and a market label at the same time.
How should you use label colors?
Choose colors consistently for categories that your team needs to recognize quickly. One color could identify production labels, another marketing campaigns, and another items requiring attention. The label name still carries the meaning; color adds a quick visual cue while browsing Tags and Digital Links.
Frequently asked questions
Can I assign more than one label to a Tag?

Does changing a label change where a Tag redirects?
No. Labels support organization, navigation, and search. Applying or removing one does not alter the Tag configuration or its GS1 Digital Link.
