Configure your account and public experience
Manage your profile, brand appearance, scan redirects, custom domain, and team access from Settings.
The Settings page contains account information and controls for public-facing TagLink features. You can update your name, email address, and password, then configure branding, redirects, domains, users, roles, and permissions.
| Settings area | What you can manage | Addon requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Brand Settings | Logo and brand colors on supported public pages | None |
| Redirect Settings | Waiting times for Standard and DNA Tags | Active White Label |
| Custom Domain | Your own domain for public Tag access | Active White Label |
| Manage Users and Roles | Users, roles, permission overrides, invitations | According to account permissions |
| Data Export | CSV exports of Tags, GS1 Digital Links, and Product Profiles | According to account permissions |
Brand Settings
Upload your organization's logo and set brand colors. TagLink applies these to supported public pages, including Standard and DNA waiting pages, Product Profiles, and other public destinations that support platform branding.
Brand customization is free of charge and does not require the White Label addon. White Label separately removes TagLink branding and unlocks redirect and custom-domain controls.
Redirect Settings
Set the waiting time before a scanned Tag redirects to its configured destination. Standard and DNA Tags can have different values, expressed in milliseconds. A value of 0 ms skips the waiting page and redirects immediately. A DNA scan remains authenticated even when its waiting time is 0 ms.
Custom waiting times require an active White Label subscription. Without it, or after it expires, the defaults apply:
| Tag type | Default waiting time |
|---|---|
| Standard Tag | 3 seconds |
| DNA Tag | 5 seconds |
See DNA vs Standard Tags for the difference between the two types.
Custom Domain
With an active White Label subscription, you can use your own domain instead of the default TagLink domain on public pages. A dedicated subdomain such as tag.yourdomain.com is recommended.
Configure the subdomain's DNS CNAME record to point to custom.tag.link, then enable the custom domain in TagLink. Once enabled, newly encoded Tags use your custom domain instead of tag.link. Your organization retains control of the domain through its DNS provider and can change where the subdomain points later.
When White Label is inactive, the default TagLink domain is used. The custom-domain functionality requires an active subscription.
Data Export
The Data Export section allows you to download your account data as CSV files. Three types of data can currently be exported:
- Tags — exports information about all Tags, including their UID, type, batch, destination, labels, clicks, creation and update dates.
- GS1 Digital Links — exports information about all GS1 Digital Links, including GTIN, batch, destination, labels, clicks, creation and update dates.
- Product Profiles — exports product profile information, including the profile name, product type, batch, clicks, creation and update dates, standard product fields, and custom fields (structured as JSON).
Click Export CSV next to the required data type to start an export.
Export processing
Exports can contain a large amount of data, so they are generated in the background. You can leave the Settings page while the export is being processed and return later to download the generated file.
Completed and recent exports are displayed in the Recent exports section. Each export shows:
- the export type;
- its current status;
- the date and time when the export was requested;
- the number of rows generated;
- the generated file size;
- the date and time until which the file remains available.
When an export is ready, click Download to download the CSV file.
Generated export files are available for 7 days. After the availability period expires, the file is no longer available for download and a new export must be generated if the data is required again. Export logs are deleted after 30 days.
Exported data
The exported CSV files contain the following information.
| Export | Data included |
|---|---|
| Tags | object ID, client Tag ID, UID, Tag type, batch ID and name, destination ID and name, destination type, labels, clicks, creation date, and last update date |
| GS1 Digital Links | object ID, client GS1 Digital Link ID, GTIN, batch ID and name, destination ID and name, destination type, labels, clicks, creation date, and last update date |
| Product Profiles | object ID, name, product type, batch ID and name, clicks, creation date, last update date, brand, product name, GTIN, product description, and custom fields (structured as JSON) |
Fields that do not have a value for a particular record are exported as empty CSV fields.
For Product Profiles, custom fields are included in the CSV as structured data. Their values can contain different field types, such as text, textarea, links, or embedded video fields.
Export status
An export can have different statuses while it is being processed, like Queued or Failed. Once processing is complete, the export is marked as Ready and the Download button becomes available.
The Recent exports list provides the information needed to identify a completed export and its availability period.
Users, roles, and permissions
A permission controls whether a user can perform a specific action on a resource, such as viewing or editing Product Profiles. A role combines permissions. Users may have multiple roles; if those roles conflict, an explicit deny takes precedence.
Permission overrides are user-specific exceptions and take precedence over permissions inherited from roles. For example, you can let one Member edit Product Profiles without changing the Member role for everyone. Go to Settings → Manage Users and Roles → Users → Override Permissions.
A user-specific override takes precedence over inherited role permissions. Among conflicting assigned roles, a denial wins.
Default and custom roles
| Role | Access | Can you edit or delete the default role? |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | All permissions, including account administration | No |
| Admin | All permissions except User and Role management and Addon and billing settings | No |
| Member | Read-only; can view resources but not create, edit, or delete them | No |
Create custom roles for more specific access levels. Keep related permissions consistent: edit permission may be ineffective if view permission for the same resource is denied. Changes to assigned roles take effect immediately.
Manage users
The Users tab lists users on the account. Assign one or more roles, apply permission overrides, or use the toggle beside a user to disable access. A disabled user cannot log in or access account resources and can be enabled again later; disabling does not permanently remove the user.
Invite users
In the Invites tab, enter an email address, assign one or more roles, and send the invitation. The recipient receives a registration link and joins with the permissions from those roles. Pending invitations can be revoked. Once accepted, manage the person in Users.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need White Label to add my logo and colors?
No. Brand Settings are free of charge. White Label is required for custom redirect waiting times and a custom domain.
Does a 0 ms waiting time disable DNA authentication?
No. The waiting page is skipped, but the DNA scan remains authenticated.
Can I give one user an exception without editing a role?
Yes. Set an individual permission override under Settings → Manage Users and Roles → Users → Override Permissions.
How long are exported files available?
Generated CSV files are available for 7 days after the export is completed. After that period, the file is no longer available and you need to generate a new export. Export logs are deleted after 30 days.
