Edit one Tag or update many at once

Set Destinations, organize Tags with Labels, and add Tag-specific Dynamic Data from My Tags.

In TagLink, you can edit a single Tag or select several Tags for a bulk edit. Use individual editing for unique values and Dynamic Data. Use bulk editing when the selected Tags should receive the same Destination or Labels.

Edit a single Tag

  1. Open My Tags and find the Tag in the table.
  2. Select the Edit (pencil) icon for that Tag.
  3. Update its Destination, Labels, or Dynamic Data as needed.

Create a Destination before assigning it to a Tag. Changes made through the individual edit interface apply only to the selected Tag.

Add Tag-specific Dynamic Data

Dynamic Data lets multiple Tags use the same Product Profile while displaying different values for individual Tags. For example, each Tag could supply its own owner, purchase date, or serial number.

Because those values belong to the individual Tag, configure Dynamic Data one Tag at a time. It is not available in bulk editing.

Edit multiple Tags

  1. In the Tag table, select the checkboxes for the Tags you want to update.
  2. Select Edit Selected Tags.
  3. Set the common Destination or Labels to apply to the selection.
  4. Review the selected Tags and the new settings before applying the change.

Bulk editing is useful when several Tags in a Batch or campaign need the same configuration. The chosen settings apply to every selected Tag.

Important: bulk editing replaces Labels

The Labels you set in a bulk edit replace the Labels already assigned to all selected Tags. Include every Label you want those Tags to keep.

For example, a Tag with Summer Campaign and Premium will lose Premium if the bulk edit assigns only Summer Campaign.

Which editing method should you use?

Choose single-Tag editing

For a precise change, a unique configuration, or Dynamic Data that differs between Tags.

Choose bulk editing

When all selected Tags need the same Destination or the same complete set of Labels.

See Organizing Tags to learn how Batches and Labels help you find the Tags you need to edit.
