Keep every Tag easy to find
Use Batches for a clear folder hierarchy and Labels for flexible categories across your Tag inventory.
TagLink offers two complementary ways to organize Tags: Batches and Labels. A Batch places a Tag within a structured group. Labels describe attributes you can use to search and filter Tags, even when they belong to different Batches.
| Batches | Labels | |
|---|---|---|
| Structure | Nested folders | Flat, flexible categories |
| Best for | Customers, projects, product lines, production runs | Campaigns, regions, product types, internal status |
| How a Tag is used | Assigned to a Batch and movable between Batches | Can have multiple Labels |
| Finding Tags | Browse a hierarchy | Search or filter by attributes |
Batches: build a folder hierarchyβ
Use Batches to group related Tags in a predictable structure. You can create nested Batches up to five levels deep and move Tags between them as your organization changes.
For example, a hierarchy might be:
- Customer A
- Products
- Product Line 1
- Campaign 2026
- Batch 01
Each numbered item represents the next level within the previous one. A hierarchy is useful when your team already organizes work by customer, project, product, or production run.
Labels: classify Tags across Batchesβ
Labels are not folders. Assign one or more Labels directly to a Tag to describe attributes that may cut across your Batch hierarchy.
For example, a Tag in a customer Batch could have the Labels Premium, Campaign 2026, and Italy. You can then use those Labels as criteria for searching and filtering without putting the Tag in multiple folders.

Put Tags in Batches according to the structure your team works with. Add Labels for other attributes, such as region, campaign, or status, that help you find Tags across that structure.
Which should you choose?β
Choose a Batch whenβ¦
The Tags belong together in a stable hierarchy, such as one customer's project or a production run.
Choose a Label whenβ¦
You need to identify Tags by an attribute shared across different groups or apply several categories to one Tag.
Once you have found the right group, see Editing Tags for individual and bulk changes.
