Know exactly which Tag you are viewing
Open a Tag's Info view to check its identifiers, technology type, and available QR Code.
In the My Tags table, select the Info (i) icon for a Tag to open its detailed view. This view helps you identify the physical Tag and understand which features are available for it.
What appears in the Info view?
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| UID | The identifier of the physical NFC Tag. It is public and is used for identification, not authentication. |
| Client ID | A sequential reference assigned within the customer account. Numbering starts at 1 for each customer. |
| Type | Whether the Tag is Standard or DNA. This affects its available behavior and features. |
| QR Code | Available for Standard Tags as another way to access the same Destination. |
UID and Client ID: what is the difference?
The UID identifies the physical Tag. The Client ID is a separate number used as a convenient reference within your TagLink account. The two identifiers serve different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable.
A UID can be read from the Tag. Its presence alone does not prove ownership, authorization, identity, or that a request came from a genuine Tag.
If your use case requires scan authentication, see Standard NFC vs NFC DNA.
Check the Tag type
The Type field shows whether the selected Tag is Standard or DNA. Check this before planning a configuration or access flow, because the supported features differ between the two types.
Access the QR Code for a Standard Tag
For a Standard Tag, the Info view provides its associated QR Code. Scanning it follows the same Destination and redirect behavior as accessing that Tag through NFC. It gives users another way to reach the digital content when NFC is unavailable.
The QR Code described here is not available for DNA Tags in TagLink. A static QR Code cannot reproduce the dynamic authentication data of an NFC DNA scan.
Return to My Tags to manage the Tag, or read Editing Tags to change its configuration.
